Here’s an opportunity for students to build their knowledge, leadership skills and their college resumes. The Youth Preparedness Council (YPC) was created in 2012 to bring together youth leaders interested in supporting disaster preparedness and making a difference in their communities by completing disaster preparedness projects nationally and locally. The application opened this week for students 8th through 11th grade.

Application Requirements

The Youth Preparedness Council application usually opens at the beginning of the year. Students in grades eight through 11 can apply. Make sure to complete all sections of the application including:

  1. A complete application form (including narrative responses to all questions)
  2. Letters of recommendation
  3. Academic records (include previous and current year transcripts)
  4. A list of extracurricular activities
  5. Any supplemental materials that showcase your capabilities
