UNITY at Native American Fish & Wildlife Conference
Partnerships are important to UNITY so when an opportunity became available for a presentation at the annual Native American Fish and Wildlife conference, UNITY jumped at the chance. The conference, sponsored by the Native American Fish and Wildlife Society (NAFWS) held last month at the Gila River Wild horse Pass Casino Hotel, drew about 200 attendees from around the country.
UNITY presenters, including National UNITY Council Co-President Joseph Davis, Social Media Specialist Jared Massey and Executive Director Mary Kim Titla, shared youth programming opportunities including its Earth Ambassador program.
“Preserving and protecting Mother Earth is vital to our survival as Native people. There’s a direct correlation between who we are as a people and the land, animal life, natural resources and our elements. It makes sense for UNITY to partner with tribal fish and wildlife specialists who carry important knowledge that must be shared with future generations so everyone can do learn to do their part in preserving our identity,” said Titla.
A big thanks to the NAFWS for allowing UNITY to take part in your conference! For those wishing to learn more about UNITY’s Earth Ambassador program, please contact Tami Patterson at t.patterson@unityinc.org.
