UNITY hires Patterson as Office Manager
Tami Patterson is UNITY’s new Office Manager. Patterson grew up in Parker Arizona, while her father worked for the Colorado River Indian Tribes. She is a proud mother of two children who are enrolled members of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She worked as a Johnson O’Malley Tutor and Youth Services coordinator in St. Ignace Michigan and served as the lead advisor to the Waaniniigaanzijig Tribal Youth Council (WTYC), which introduced her to UNITY.
“My ambition as Office Manager is to support the UNITY Administration and Staff by strengthening the implementation of methods and capacity to best serve Native Youth programming” Paterson explains.
Patterson’s consulting business called, Worthwhile Effects, involved working on various UNITY projects, two funded by the Administration for Native Americans (ANA) grants. Most recently Tami served as UNITY’s bookkeeper and she’s assisted with special project including UNITY’s Earth Ambassadors.
“We’re super excited to have Tami assume this new role. She will take on a range of administrative, financial and managerial tasks. I look forward to working closely with Tami to ensure the UNITY office runs smoothly,” said Mary Kim Titla, UNITY’s Executive Director.
