UNITY’s Wellness Warriors team had the opportunity to attend the “Healthy Kids! Healthy Futures!” conference, hosted by the Notah Begay III Foundation, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Following the NB3Foundation mission statement, to reduce Native American childhood obesity and type-2 diabetes, the conference touched on many more issues regarding the health and wellness in Indian country with the intent to share solutions among health providers.
With Indian Country taking on many health and wellness initiatives, ranging from fitness programs, incorporating traditional foods, and cultural teachings, UNITY is pleased to be part of the Heath and Wellness movement, with the creation of UNITY’s new Wellness Warriors Program. UNITY’s Wellness Warriors team has been busy designing and developing their new Wellness mobile app, which is designed to help strengthen personal wellness and encourage Native Youth to host community projects centered around cultural wellness.
