Victor Organista: Empowering Native Youth Through Media, Mentorship, and Cultural Connection

Victor Organista

Bosho — Hello, my name is Victor Organista, and I am honored to represent the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation of Mayetta, Kansas, as the Southern Plains Area Representative for the 2025–2026 National UNITY Council Executive Committee.

Currently a sophomore at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas, Victor is pursuing a degree in Media Communications. At Haskell, he leads as Co-President of the Haskell UNITY Club, where he guides volunteer initiatives, community service projects, and donation drives aimed at supporting those in need.

Victor’s passion lies at the intersection of media and Indigenous storytelling. To empower Native youth to find their voices, he collaborates with the University of Kansas School of Journalism to develop media workshops that teach storytelling and technology skills. Through these workshops, he encourages youth to share their experiences and culture in powerful, creative ways.

In addition to his academic and leadership roles, Victor serves as a Program Assistant at the Boys and Girls Club of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. He works closely with youth from kindergarten through 12th grade in both summer and after-school programs, fostering growth and confidence in the next generation. He also serves as a News Anchor and Media Technician for Good Morning Indian Country, bringing stories from across Indigenous communities to a wider audience.

Whether mentoring, educating, or organizing outreach efforts, Victor remains focused on building a supportive, culturally grounded community that honors elders and encourages learning and respect. He is deeply committed to personal growth, uplifting his family, and serving others with humility and purpose.

As the Southern Plains Regional Representative, Victor is dedicated to supporting youth councils and inspiring young leaders to become changemakers and proud carriers of Indigenous culture.

Miigwetch — thank you for the opportunity to serve.
