The National Council of Urban Indian Health will host its 2026 Annual Conference from April 27–30, 2026, at The Westin Washington, D.C. Downtown.
This year’s conference will recognize the 50th anniversary of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act and reflect on five decades of progress, advocacy and collaboration to improve healthcare for American Indian and Alaska Native people living in urban communities.
The annual gathering will bring together Urban Indian Organizations, healthcare professionals, policymakers, community leaders and advocates from across the country. Participants will have opportunities to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships and discuss priorities affecting urban Native health.
The conference begins Monday, April 27, with training for Urban Indian Organization Boards of Directors. General conference programming will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, April 28–29.
The event will conclude Thursday, April 30, with Hill Day, when eligible participants will meet with congressional offices to advocate for urban Indian health priorities. Hill visits are open only to Indian Health Service-funded Urban Indian Organizations and require advance registration.
