On a crisp winter evening, the ACIR InnerVoice Youth Council embraced the holiday spirit by supporting the annual Tribal Christmas Dinner at the Polk County Commerce Center, where over 100 elders, families, and community members gathered to celebrate, connect, and reflect.

The dinner has long been a cherished tradition, bringing together generations to honor the season and strengthen community ties. This year, the youth council took the lead in ensuring that the event ran smoothly and warmly welcomed all who attended. Members greeted guests with bright smiles, assisted elders to their seats, and helped with serving the evening meal—demonstrating kindness, patience, and respect throughout the evening.

As part of the festivities, youth council members also performed a short program of holiday songs, filling the space with music and holiday cheer. Their voices echoed the values of unity and gratitude, reminding everyone in the room of the importance of togetherness during this special time of year. Laughter, conversation, and heartfelt moments were shared, with the youth acting as a bridge between generations.

Beyond their visible contributions, the InnerVoice Youth Council set an example of servant leadership. Their efforts—both behind the scenes and during the event—highlighted their dedication to uplifting their community and honoring their elders through thoughtful action. From preparing plates to lending a helping hand wherever needed, their presence made a lasting impact.

The Tribal Christmas Dinner served not just as a festive gathering, but as a reminder of how youth play a vital role in sustaining cultural practices and supporting the wellbeing of their people. Through song, service, and spirit, the ACIR InnerVoice Youth Council continues to lead with heart and purpose, strengthening community bonds one event at a time.
