Youth Council: Saginaw Chippewa Youth Council
As a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, I am currently serving my fourth year on the Tribal Youth Council. Being part of this council has deepened my connection to my community and strengthened my commitment to leadership and service.
Education has always been a top priority in my family, and I strive to reflect those values through both academic and extracurricular engagement. After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, I plan to attend Ferris State University to pursue a degree in criminal justice. My dream is to become a police officer—and one day, serve as chief of police—so I can give back and protect the community that has shaped me.
Alongside my academic and leadership pursuits, I am also a dedicated athlete. I play on the Mt. Pleasant High School varsity basketball team and recently completed a season with the varsity football team. I also plan to join the baseball team this year. Sports have taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance—skills that are just as important in leadership as they are on the field.
Running for office is an opportunity for me to challenge myself and grow. I want to continue learning how to be a strong, thoughtful leader so I can uplift other Native youth and help shape a brighter future for our community.
