The Poarch Creek Youth Council gathered for a special evening of tradition, community, and purpose at their Culture Night Dinner-Plate Fundraiser. Held in Poarch, Alabama, this intimate yet impactful event brought together ten participants for a night dedicated to social wellness and cultural celebration.

The fundraiser was centered around a dinner-plate sale featuring traditional foods, prepared with care and served to community members eager to support the youth council’s initiatives. While the gathering was small in number, it was rich in spirit and cultural pride. Through shared meals and meaningful conversation, attendees celebrated the strength of their identity and the importance of staying connected to cultural roots.

The purpose of the fundraiser extended beyond simply raising money. It was an opportunity for youth leaders to engage in community service, build relationships, and promote wellness through culture. By organizing the event themselves, youth council members gained valuable experience in leadership, event planning, and teamwork — all while deepening their connection to Poarch Creek traditions.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward future projects led by the youth council, aimed at strengthening cultural knowledge, supporting wellness, and creating positive opportunities for their peers.

Culture Night was a reminder that even small gatherings can make a big difference. Through food, fellowship, and shared purpose, the Poarch Creek Youth Council demonstrated the power of culture in building a healthier, stronger community.
