Guided by a UNITY alumnus and former Male Co-President who has found a fun and interactive way to bring UNITY youth cohorts together for an evening of virtual fun. Michael Preston of the Akimel O’odham/Pee-Posh Youth Council and a former UNITY Male Co-President co-hosted the first of a series of monthly “Fun and Games.”
“It’s good to have safe place for native youth to gather and “hold space” one grateful participant explained. As one of the four pillars of UNITY, social wellness is important for youth leadership development, maybe now more than ever.
The UNITY cohorts consisted of the National UNITY Council/Executive Committee, Earth Ambassadors, 25 Under 25 Leaders and Peer Guides took trivia lessons last week in a fun and interactive way of networking. Our next “Fun and Games” will be held virtually for any UNITY youth on the last Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm MST. Please email g.mendoza@unityinc.org and nucec@unityinc.org for further details.
