Express yourself in UNITY’s annual National Conference Logo Contest. Any Native youth ages 14 – 24 is eligible to submit up to 3 designs. Drawings can be hand-drawn sketches in any media or digital art. The youth submissions will enhanced by a graphic designer for all of the conference promotions.

All logo designs are due Friday, April 12, 2024.

Each person may submit up to three designs for consideration. The logo submissions should reflect the “Revitalizing Our Roots” conference theme through culture and include Northwest cultural designs to reflect the Portland region.  A graphic designer will enhance and digitize the final selected art to promote the upcoming National UNITY Conference.

The National UNITY Council youth representatives have adopted the conference theme to encourage Native youth to reengage with cultural teachings to improve their overall mental health and well-being. This is the initiative for 2024, which all youth councils are encouraged to design community events around. In this way, the collective impact of Native youth coming together to improve access to cultural coping skills and traditional teachings. The National UNITY Council Executive Committee believes that having a firm foundation in our cultural teachings will ground us and provide a secure platform for Native youth to cultivate success in any leadership role they choose.

Each year, the National UNITY Conference is held in a different location. It is essential to honor the culture and traditions of the host communities where we attend. For these reasons, we respectfully request that indigenous designs from the Northwest region be incorporated into the log design. We wish for the winning logo to reflect Portland and the surrounding tribes. This may take some research to be culturally respectful and creative in your designs.
