Annual STEM Camp Returns to the Navajo Nation

Kicking off the summer season is the annual STEM Camp, taking place June 5–7 at Chinle High School on the Navajo Nation.

This free camp is open to students in 2nd through 12th grade and offers a fun-filled weekend focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on activities and cultural experiences.

This year’s camp agenda includes:

  • A Jeep tour through Canyon de Chelly National Monument
  • Bike riding and helmet safety activities
  • STEM-related workshops led by guest speakers
  • A special visit from Camille Jean Uentillie

The Tribal Affairs Team looks forward to welcoming youth from across the region to participate in this engaging and educational experience.

Native American Camp Gathering in Prescott

Later in the month, families are invited to attend the Native American Camp Gathering from June 26–28 at the Girl Scouts camp property in Prescott.

This family-friendly camp welcomes Girl Scouts and their loved ones, including parents, siblings, and even grandparents. Last year, families enjoyed gathering together at Willow Springs Camp, creating lasting memories through outdoor activities and cultural connection.

Camp activities this year will include:

  • A cultural presentation by Generations4Change
  • Traditional campfire activities
  • S’mores and family bonding experiences
  • Outdoor recreation and community engagement

Camperships and financial aid are available upon request to help make camp accessible for all families interested in attending.
