UNITY invites youth councils to sign up to share culture, teachings, songs, prayers, stories, encouragement, or other forms of “Good Medicine” at the UNITY Fire during the 2026 National UNITY Conference.

For many years, the UNITY Fire has served as a place of support, healing, prayer, reflection, and spiritual nourishment for conference attendees. As with all elements given to us, the fire belongs to everyone. The UNITY Fire is meant to be a welcoming space where all beliefs, traditions, and denominations may respectfully share what strengthens the spirit, restores the mind, and brings people together.

UNITY wants to know: What teachings help strengthen you spiritually, restore you mentally, or engage you socially?

Good Medicine can take many forms. Youth councils may choose to share a song, traditional prayer, scripture reading, cultural teaching, traditional story, wellness message, hand games, words of encouragement, or another positive practice that supports healing and connection.

Several youth councils have already signed up to share at the UNITY Fire, including:

  • Muckleshoot Tribe — How to find yourself and learn to be confident
  • Pechanga Youth Department — Motivational speaking and stories
  • White Mountain Apache Tribal Youth Council — Apache songs and encouragement

UNITY encourages more youth councils to join them by sharing the cultural teachings, wellness practices, and positive messages that help strengthen their communities.

The focus of Good Medicine is to lift up what is good. In alignment with UNITY’s mission to inspire hope, this space centers a strengths-based approach to wellness, leadership, and community healing. While many Native youth face challenges and trauma in their everyday lives, UNITY believes in helping young leaders focus on the tools, teachings, and support systems they do have. Positivity is healing, and it helps build resiliency in Native youth leaders.

The UNITY Fire is not just a place to gather. It is a place to listen, learn, pray, laugh, reflect, and share what brings strength to our people.

Youth councils interested in participating should complete the Good Medicine sign-up form and share what they would like to offer at the UNITY Fire.

Sign up today to share your Good Medicine at the UNITY Fire.
