The Tilikum Summer Health Experience offered a fully funded summer opportunity for American Indian and Alaska Native undergraduate students interested in health professions.
This free five-week hybrid enrichment program included both virtual learning and in-person experiences in Portland, Oregon. Participants received training, mentorship, and hands-on exposure to health careers while staying connected to their cultural identity.
Students selected for the program received $1,000 per week, along with free housing and meals. The experience was designed to help Native students explore pathways in health care, build professional skills, and connect with mentors and peers.
