For Immediate Release: November 2, 2022.
Washington, DC: The White House, United National Indian Tribal Youth (U.N.I.T.Y.), and the Center for Native American Youth (CNAY) at the Aspen Institute are proud to announce the White House Tribal Youth Forum! This summit will take place on November 14, 2022, at Health and Human Services in Washington, DC. This one-day summit will feature an exciting all-day program with high-level administration officials, special guests, and Native youth from across Indian Country to engage in key discussions including mental health, wellness, climate change, food sovereignty, education, and more. We are looking forward to meaningful dialogue and ensuring that young Native people have the opportunities, tools, and support to thrive.
“It’s a privilege to work alongside the Administration and our relatives at UNITY to ensure meaningful dialogue with Native youth in our Nation’s capital,” shares CNAY Executive Director Nikki Pitre, “we are thankful for our partners and supporters who have worked so hard to allow us to bring together over 100 Native youth leaders to the White House Tribal Youth Forum.”
“This is an amazing opportunity for our Native youth to engage with the White House on key policy initiatives impacting their tribal communities,” said Mary Kim Titla, UNITY executive director. “The youth selected for this forum have demonstrated strong leadership skills and the desire to have their voices heard on issues important to them.”
The one-day summit will be live-streamed and have sessions open to the press. Details on both will be forthcoming. For press opportunities, please reach out to Cheyenne.kippenberger@aspeninstitute.org.
