The Comanche Nation IAMNDN Youth Council hosted a dynamic three-day Media Camp at the Higher Education Center in Lawton, Oklahoma, offering youth hands-on experience in a wide range of creative and communication fields. With 25 participants, the camp focused on developing practical skills in areas such as camera operation, graphic design, journalism, interviewing, music production, and podcasting.
The goal of the camp was to equip youth with tools that could spark interest in future careers while encouraging creative expression and storytelling. Each session provided opportunities for participants to explore their talents, build confidence, and collaborate with peers in a supportive environment.
This Media Camp also supported Social Wellness by fostering teamwork, communication, and self-expression. By creating a space where Native youth could learn new skills and envision themselves in creative professions, the IAMNDN Youth Council emphasized the importance of empowering the next generation to pursue their passions and shape their futures.
The camp was a celebration of identity, creativity, and possibility—reminding every participant that their voice and vision matter.
