Rocky Mountain Region July Monthly Report

The month of July was a very awesome month of events and experiences. I attended the National UNITY Conference on June 28th to July 3rd in Washington DC. This conference was full of beautiful cultures and empowered youth. Many of the youth attendees at the conference were unique leaders in their communities. Attending this conference as an Executive Committee member was definitely an experience. I was able to use my leadership skills in front of thousands of young indigenous people. I was tested at times but was also gifted with the opportunities of meeting new youth. I made new friends and strengthened current friendships. I always enjoy these conferences and am always missing friends when it is over. I was invited to attend a firework watching by the Department of Interior which was an awesome experience. I listened to Deb Haaland speak about this country. This was an awesome experience. Then I attended different pow wows in North Dakota and Minnesota. Lastly I attended a meeting that the Chippewa Cree Tribal youth council had. I am inspired and excited for these upcoming experiences with the Rocky Mountain Region.

“Native Youth across the country are very inspiring and are making great changes for their community.”
