The Northwest Native American Center of Excellence hosted the 2026 AI/AN Medical School Applicant Workshop to help American Indian and Alaska Native students prepare for the medical school application process.

This virtual workshop was designed for AI/AN students planning to apply to medical school within the next one to two years. Participants received guidance on key parts of the admissions process, including writing a strong personal statement, preparing for the MCAT, requesting letters of recommendation, practicing mock interviews, and navigating medical school applications.

The workshop also included one-on-one feedback, mock interview practice, and opportunities to connect with other AI/AN students and Native leaders in medicine. A major goal of the program was to help participants build confidence while preparing for medical school from an Indigenous perspective.

The workshop was held virtually on April 3, 2026, with personal statement reviews and mock interviews scheduled during the week of April 6–10, 2026.

The application deadline was February 25, 2026, and applications are now closed.
