Background Information: The UNITY 25 Under 25 Native Youth Leaders recognition program is designed to celebrate the achievements of Native American and Alaskan Native youth ages 14 to 24 who embody UNITY’s core mission and exude living a balanced life developing their spiritual, mental, physical and social well-being. Honorees will be recognized at a ceremony during the National UNITY Conference, which takes place July 3 – 7, 2020 in Washington, DC. In addition to being recognized and receiving a beaded medallion, each awardee will be provided opportunities for leadership training during a nine-month period that is designed to build on their individual achievements and promote community service. The 25 Under 25 Native Youth Leadership Awards has been made possible thanks to a grant from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The awards program began in 2014 and is awarded every other year.

Statement of Need

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified providers of beadwork who have the capacity to create and deliver a total of 25 circular 4.0 inch medallions featuring UNITY’s logo colors with a centered eagle design. Medallions must include a 32 inch necklace with white simulated bone pipe beads and other complementary decorative beads. Once awarded, the work must be completed by May 29th, 2020. Winning bid will be notified by March 27.

Conditions of Bid

All costs incurred in the preparation of a proposal will be the responsibility of the beadwork artist and will not be reimbursed by UNITY.

The proposal should include a brief history of past beadwork services provided, who will be completing the beadwork, and total cost of each medallion.
