On November 15, 2023, a dedicated member of the Bear River Youth Council contributed to the preparation for the Tribe’s annual Salmon Ceremony by working on traditional regalia. The youth helped with the creation of ceremonial dresses that would later be worn and danced in during this sacred cultural event.

This quiet yet meaningful act of service highlights the deep connection between mental wellness and cultural engagement. By taking part in regalia preparation, the youth council member supported the preservation of tradition and honored the spiritual significance of the Salmon Ceremony.

The hands-on work served not only as an offering of care and respect but also as a personal reflection of identity, purpose, and intergenerational connection. Cultural practices like these continue to strengthen mental and spiritual well-being, reinforcing the importance of youth involvement in the community’s sacred ways.
