Earth Ambassador Candice Joe was also on a panel for Global Ties Arizona. The panel was titled “Minority Participation in the Democratic Process”. Joe focused on youth participation within the democratic process. The other panelists consisted of those who ran for government positions and a professor at ASU. During Global Ties AZ, Joe was joined by Debbie Nez Manuel and Dr. Michelle Hale. Joe was glad for the opportunity to also connect with delegates from the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Guatemala.
“I enjoyed being able to speak on civic engagement as a Native youth during Global Ties AZ” stated Joe. “I was able to share my thoughts on the democratic process and how to get youth involved. I am glad I was able to connect with delegates from Latin and Central America.”
