The Fort Hall Youth Council proudly participated in the 2023 Idaho State University Homecoming Parade, bringing spirit, culture, and community pride to the streets of Pocatello. Thirteen youth council members came together to decorate a donated trailer, transforming it into a vibrant float that represented their people and community with honor and creativity.

The youth council handed out candy to the cheering crowd, all while walking the full length of the parade route. Their float was a crowd favorite, especially with the presence of Miss Shoshone-Bannock, who joined them and brought an added sense of pride and recognition to the group. The experience offered an incredible opportunity for visibility, celebration, and connection with others from across the region.

The event was not only fun, but also encouraged physical wellness, as youth spent the day on their feet—walking, working together, and staying active while engaging with the public. It also provided a meaningful way for youth council members to bond with one another, laugh, collaborate, and build stronger friendships.

From start to finish, the Idaho State University Homecoming Parade was a thrilling and memorable event for the Fort Hall Youth Council. Their participation highlighted the importance of cultural presence, physical activity, and youth leadership in public spaces. With pride in their heritage and joy in their hearts, the youth walked away with smiles, stronger connections, and a shared sense of accomplishment.
