The Native Organizers Alliance is proud to co-sponsor an upcoming virtual event featuring Kiliii Yüyan, an award-winning photographer, author, and National Geographic Explorer.
Titled “Guardians of Life: Indigenous Science, Indigenous Wisdom, and Restoring the Planet,” the webinar will explore the powerful relationship between Indigenous peoples and their ancestral homelands through photography, storytelling, and lived experience.
Drawing from his acclaimed book Guardians of Life, Yüyan shares vivid portraits and stories of Indigenous communities around the world. His work highlights the knowledge, resilience, and stewardship practices that continue to sustain life on Earth. Through images and firsthand accounts, attendees will gain insight into the experiences of Indigenous youth and elders, hunters and farmers, spiritual leaders, and craftspeople who remain deeply connected to the land and waters they protect.
The event also emphasizes the importance of upholding the inherent sovereign rights of Indigenous peoples to steward ancestral lands and waters, while building collective movements that support environmental restoration and sustainability for future generations.
