NUC Executive Committee Member Anthony Tamez-Pochel, recent UNITY 25 Under 25 Awardee, will be featured in the upcoming Native Vote Virtual Rally. The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) President Fawn Sharp and UNITY Alumni DJ Emcee One will co-host the Native Vote Taking Action in 2020 Virtual Rally. This event will serve as the official kick-off for NCAI’s Native Vote initiative for 2020 and will stream live online via NCAI’s Facebook and YouTube channels to launch voter engagement in one of the most important years for civic engagement in Indian Country.

UNITY Peer Guides featured in National Virtual Native Youth Healing Gathering

The NCUIH Youth Advisory Council , in partnership with the United National Indian Tribal Youth Inc. offered resources and tools for Native youth across Indian Country during a National Virtual Native Youth Healing Gathering. The UNITY Peer Guides were featured as guest presenters to share the Healing Indigenous Lives Initiative and ways they are finding healing through using “Culture As Prevention”.

UNITY Webinar – Celebrate Mother Earth Day!

On April 2, 2020 UNITY Earth Ambassadors hosted a UNITY Webinar called Celebrate Mother Earth Day to provide inspiration and information to Native youth on how to carry out Earth Day projects during this time of social distancing. UNITY Kicks Off Virtual 44 Day Challenge to Celebrate 44th Birthday

United National Indian Tribal Youth, UNITY, is celebrating its 44th birthday tomorrow, April 16. In honor of their 44 years, UNITY, the largest Native youth leadership development organization, will be kicking off a 44 Day Challenge for Native youth on Facebook Live. UNITY wants to encourage youth to reach out to others, and to send the message that, even though we are all staying at home, we can still find ways to serve our communities.

Members of the National UNITY Council’s Executive Committee will share ways youth councils and individuals can complete a project while self-isolating, utilizing the YOUth Can! Curriculum. They will also give tips for staying connected with other Native youth using various online platforms while social distancing, and share available resources.
