National UNITY Council Executive Committee Town Hall — May 5, 2026

Across Native communities, youth are leading with clarity, courage, and cultural strength—naming the challenges of today while actively shaping pathways toward healing and justice.

The National UNITY Council Executive Committee has taken a unified stand through its resolution, “Restore the Balance: Healing Trauma & Ending Violence in Native Communities,” reflecting the voices of Native youth from across the country. This resolution is grounded in lived experience and collective vision, offering a clear call to action centered on healing, cultural revitalization, and community-led change.

Adopted at the 2026 UNITY Midyear Conference, the resolution highlights urgent issues impacting Native youth, including mental health disparities, substance use, violence, educational inequities, and intergenerational trauma. At its core, it elevates two critical priorities: generational trauma and violence against Native people, including MMIP/MMIW/MMIW2S+.

From Resolution to Action

To continue this work in a meaningful and accessible way, the National UNITY Council Executive Committee is hosting a virtual town hall:

Restore the Balance: Native Youth Leading Healing and Change
May 5, 2026
Virtual Event (Free and Open to All)

This town hall creates a culturally grounded space for dialogue, reflection, and collective action. It is designed to uplift Native youth voices while fostering connection across generations and communities.

Together, participants will explore:

  • Intergenerational dialogue and shared responsibility
  • Cultural revitalization and strengthening identity
  • Land-based healing practices and traditional knowledge
  • Youth-led advocacy for safety and community well-being

This gathering is rooted in the understanding that healing is collective work. It grows through relationships, cultural teachings, and the leadership of young people who are already driving change in their communities.
