News from Native California invited youth from California Tribal Nations to submit creative work for a special youth-focused Summer 2026 issue.
The quarterly magazine highlights the vibrant cultures, arts, languages, histories, social justice movements, and stories of California’s diverse Indian peoples. For this special issue, Native youth up to age 24 were encouraged to share their voices through stories, poems, artwork, essays, and other written submissions.
Audio and video submissions may also be featured on the magazine’s website, creating another way for young people to share their creativity, perspectives, and community stories.
This opportunity gives California Native youth a platform to be published, celebrated, and heard while helping uplift the next generation of storytellers and artists.
Submissions were due by May 1, 2026, and are now closed.
Deadline: May 1, 2026
