Speaker line up announced for National UNITY Conference


An Actor, Clothing designer, Singer and Tik Tok star, and a Fashion designer have been confirmed as part of the speaker line up at the 2021 National UNITY Conference in Dallas, Texas to be held July 2 – 6, at the downtown Sheraton Hotel and Convention Center. The conference theme will be ‘45 Years of Building Resilient Leaders and Lifelong Connections.’  The event will feature:
  • Chance Rush, Hidatsa, actor in Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and motivational speaker, trainer, comedian
  • Tia Wood, Cree/Salish, Vogue featured Dancer/Singer and Tik Tok Star
  • Hud Oberly, Comanche/Osage/Caddo,Creative Director for Urban Native Era
  • Norma Baker Flying Horse, Hidatsa/Dakota Sioux/Assiniboine, Red Berry Woman Fashion Designer

The event will also host other big names in Indian Country, UNITY Trainers:

  • Robert Johnston, Choctaw/Muscogee Creek, Founding member of the Native Wellness Institute, motivational speaker, coach and certified hypnotist
  • Dr. Pearl Yellowman, Navajo, community developer, trainer, motivational speaker and behavioral health specialist
  • Marcus Guinn, Osage/Potawatomi/Puerto Rican, DJ, Recording Artist, Youth Advocate, Conference Planner
  • Juanita Toledo, Jemez Pueblo, model, motivational speaker, trainer

Commenting on the line-up, Mary Kim Titla, UNITY Executive Director, said, “Last year was a tough year for everyone. This is our first time in more than a year, since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we’re meeting in person! With the speakers and trainers coming in, it will truly be a special time of reconnecting, reflection and healing.”
