On March 11, 2024, the White Mountain Apache Tribal Youth Council hosted a UNITY Healing Circle in Whiteriver, welcoming 30 youth to a powerful gathering focused on mental wellness and community healing.
The event featured structured UNITY trainings that created a safe and supportive environment for open dialogue, reflection, and growth. Through culturally grounded practices and guided discussions, participants explored topics related to trauma, self-care, and the importance of mental health within Indigenous communities.
The Healing Circle provided youth with an opportunity to express themselves, support one another, and strengthen their emotional resilience. Council members emphasized the importance of creating safe spaces where youth can heal, connect, and thrive—especially in the face of challenges impacting Native communities.
This gathering was more than just a workshop—it was a meaningful step in continuing the tradition of healing through unity, culture, and youth leadership.
