UNITY Shares Wellness Warrior app at Nike World Headquarters

Fitness trainers and wellness coordinators in Indian Country shared culturally specific approaches to health and wellness at the recent Western Tribal Diabetes Project gathering held last month at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. Hosted annually by the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board in collaboration with Nike N7, the Native Fitness XV event attracted dozens of participants and presenters including UNITY’s Wellness Warriors Project Coordinator Josh Tso, Navajo.

Midyear Scavenger Hunt Maps

As part of the Fitness 40 activity, use the included map to navigate to the Tempe Conference area for the Scavenger Hunt. Find and visit any 5 locations on the map. Use your camera phone and take a selfie  at the location, then post it to your Facebook or Instagram using the #UNITYfitness40SH hashtag. You must have 5 locations  to  be  entered to win some of the prizes. Also, there will be 2 locations (chosen at random) where we will  be giving away  shirts. Shirts will  be given on a first come first serve basis.

This is your opportunity to join UNITY’s “Fitness 40” Personal Wellness Challenge. You can also do this as part of a team (or youth council).

In the summer of 2016, in celebration of UNITY’s 40th Anniversary, UNITY announced the creation of the Fitness 40 Program.The goal is to create a healthier lifestyle by encouraging individuals and communities to participate in 40 minutes of activity, four times a week.
