The Phoenix Indian Center, in partnership with Arizona State University, is inviting Indigenous youth to participate in research focus groups focused on vaping prevention among American Indian and Alaska Native youth.
Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, perspectives and ideas to help improve research approaches and future youth vaping prevention efforts. The focus groups are designed to ensure that prevention strategies better reflect the needs and voices of Native youth.
Dinner, snacks and all necessary materials will be provided. Youth who participate will also receive a $50 gift card.
Eligible participants must self-identify as American Indian or Alaska Native and be between the ages of 11 and 17. The opportunity listing also states that participants must live in an urban area of Maricopa County, although the focus groups will take place in Flagstaff.
The sessions will be held April 28 and 29, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each evening at the Hal Jensen Recreation Center, located at 2403 N. Izabel Street in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Interested youth and families are encouraged to register in advance.
