Have you ever had aspirations of walking the runway at a fashion show? Well, dream no further! UNITY will be hosting our very own fashion show at the 2025 National UNITY Conference featuring none other than Grammy Award-winning Native Designer, Norma Baker-Flying Horse.
Originating in Oklahoma City in 2016, UNITY’s Fashion Show has had many amazing youth models walk the runway for some notable designers. We are grateful to have the opportunity to bring this event back this year for our future Native models to make their runway debut!
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Norma Baker-Flying Horse, an enrolled member of the Hidatsa tribe and a member of the Dakota Sioux and Assiniboine tribes as well as an adopted member of the Crow Nation, is the creator of Red Berry woman, a fashion line that incorporates Native American traditional garment styles into contemporary couture garments and ready to wear for both women and men. Red Berry Woman was named the 2020 International Designer of the year, the 2022 Phoenix Fashion Week Designer of the Year, and a 2022 Cultural Recognition Visual Arts Grammy Award co-recipient. Her designs have been seen on various red-carpet events such as the Grammys and the Oscars. She was the first Native American contemporary designer to have a dress worn on the Oscar stage during an Oscar musical performance. Giving her business her Native given name, Red Berry Woman, Norma strives to create pieces that honor and celebrate her tribal bloodlines.
We will be holding two sets of auditions; one via video submission and a final in-person audition at the National UNITY Conference in San Diego, CA.

Final in-person audition:
- Models selected from the video submissions will be contacted and invited to in person auditions
- In-person auditions for models will be held at the Conference on Sunday, June 29th
- Finalists will meet prior to the Gala on Monday, June 30th for fitting and run through.
