On April 8, 2024, the White Mountain Apache Tribal Youth Council held a Financial Literacy Workshop in Whiteriver, bringing together over 25 youth and community members to learn the essentials of smart money management.

The workshop focused on building foundational knowledge about financial decision-making, including budgeting, saving, understanding loans, and using credit responsibly. Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, participants gained practical tools to help them navigate the financial choices they will face as they grow into adulthood.

For many attendees, the session was an eye-opening experience, sparking new conversations about financial independence and long-term planning. The Youth Council emphasized that learning to manage money wisely is a key step toward personal empowerment and community resilience.

By equipping young people with this vital knowledge, the White Mountain Apache Tribal Youth Council continues to invest in the future leaders of their Nation—building confidence, responsibility, and a pathway toward financial stability.
