UNITY is now accepting submissions for workshops to be presented during the 2024 National Conference on Sunday, June 30th, and Tuesday, July 2nd. Presenters will share a topic that engages youth and encourages learning in a safe and positive environment. UNITY will hold its National Conference from June 29 – July 3, 2024, in Portland, OR. The 2024 events will engage Native youth nationwide through workshops, breakout sessions, music, and cultural sharing. Popular UNITY trainers and presenters will return, and attendees will participate in workshops, hear from engaging guest speakers, and enjoy networking with other Native youth around the country. The agenda centers on spiritual, physical, mental, and social well-being. We are looking forward to sharing our experiences and traditions once again.

How long are the workshops?
Presenters will have 45 minutes to present on a specific topic (see suggested subject matters below.) Native youth participants will select the workshops they want to participate in. There will be two days of 4 rounds of workshops:
Sunday, June 30 – College and Career Readiness Day
Workshops Session I 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Workshops Session II 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Workshops Session III 2:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Workshops Session IV 3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
Tuesday, July 2
Workshops Session I 10:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Workshops Session II 1:30 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Workshops Session III 2:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Workshops Session IV 3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
Subject matters may include (but are not limited to):
- CAREER: Higher Education, Fellowship Programs, STEM-related Education, Politics and Leadership, and Financial Planning
- CULTURE: Language and Culture Retention Programs/Models, Using the Arts as a Means of Retaining Culture, NAGPRA/Historic Preservation, and Using Culture as a Means to Live a Healthy Life
- ENVIRONMENT: Global Warming, Environmental Issues Confronting Tribal Communities, Careers and Opportunities in Environmental Sciences, Political Issues Involving Our Planet
- HEALTH: Physical, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Violence, Wellness Programs, Fitness and Active Lifestyles

UNITY serves Native American and Alaska Native youth ages 14-24 years old. Your content should be appealing and directed to youth in this age range. There is high interest for Peer-to-Peer workshops. Youth and youth councils are encouraged to submit proposals.
Please note: Honorariums are not provided for workshop presenters.
