Through school leadership, service projects and community involvement, Natalie Pratt of Oklahoma is making a positive impact across the Southern Plains Region. As an individual UNITY member, Natalie brings enthusiasm, creativity and a strong commitment to helping others through activities that support students, families and community organizations. Her involvement throughout the year reflects the many ways Native youth leadership can take shape through service, relationship-building and showing up for community.
One of Natalie’s largest service efforts this year was Norman North SPUD Week on January 5, 2026, at Norman North High School. The school’s annual philanthropy week welcomed approximately 400 participants and focused on raising funds for recipients in the local community. Centered on Social Wellness, the event brought students together around a shared goal of giving back while strengthening school and community connections. Natalie’s participation highlighted her commitment to service and her willingness to contribute to efforts that directly support others.
Natalie also spent time mentoring younger students through Reading Buddies on April 9, 2026. Visiting local elementary schools, she helped read storybooks with students and created opportunities for learning and encouragement through one-on-one connection. Supporting youth in this way demonstrates how leadership can begin with simple acts of service that build confidence and create welcoming spaces for younger students. Earlier in the school year, Natalie also participated in Connect Crew during freshman orientation at Norman North High School, helping welcome approximately 300 incoming students. By helping students feel prepared and connected as they entered high school, she contributed to building a stronger sense of belonging and school community.
Beyond school events, Natalie also remained active through Norman Assistance League service on April 19, 2026. Through ongoing volunteer work and service hours in Norman, she continued giving back while strengthening her leadership skills and community involvement. Across these efforts, Natalie’s commitment to staying involved and contributing where she can has made a meaningful difference both in school and throughout the broader community.
Looking ahead, Natalie shared interest in creating new fundraising ideas and finding more opportunities to connect with fellow council members. She also reflected on how much she enjoys bringing fresh ideas into new spaces and staying actively involved wherever she can make a difference. That spirit of leadership, creativity and service reflects UNITY’s mission to empower Native youth through community engagement and meaningful connection. Through every project—from mentoring younger students to supporting philanthropy and welcoming new classmates—Natalie continues to lead with care and create positive impact in her community.
