Health professionals can earn free continuing education credits through the Urban Indian Health Care Education from NCUIH microsite on AMA Ed Hub.
The online learning platform features culturally tailored training activities created with Urban Indian Organizations and the communities they serve in mind. Available topics include infection prevention and control, culturally grounded healthcare, trauma-informed care, holistic healing, support for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People and other issues affecting urban Native health.
Eligible participants can earn free Continuing Nursing Education credits by completing accredited NCUIH trainings. Courses that offer nursing credits include an “Instructions for Learners” section explaining the steps required to receive credit.
Free Continuing Medical Education credits are also available for all trainings published on NCUIH’s microsite. Some courses may additionally offer Continuing Education Units or National Association of Social Workers credits.
NCUIH collaborates with AMA Ed Hub, an online platform featuring educational resources from the American Medical Association, NCUIH and other trusted organizations. The platform is designed to support the professional development, certification and licensure needs of physicians, nurses, social workers and other healthcare professionals.
Registration for AMA Ed Hub is free and open to everyone. After creating an account, learners can access NCUIH’s Urban Indian Health Care Education microsite, complete available trainings and follow the course instructions to claim applicable credits.
The resource provides Urban Indian Organization staff and other health professionals with flexible opportunities to strengthen their knowledge while learning approaches that are culturally responsive and relevant to American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
