Mvskoke Nation Youth Council Gives Back Through Angel Tree Project

During the season of giving, the Mvskoke Nation Youth Council (MNYC) embraced the spirit of generosity by participating in the Angel Tree Project in partnership with the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Children and Family Services program. On November 20, 2023, the Youth Council came together at the MNYS office to wrap up a month-long initiative filled with heart, teamwork, and purpose.

After voting to adopt an Angel Tree youth, MNYC members spent weeks collecting donations and thoughtfully selecting gifts. The Council was able to provide a meaningful and personalized bundle that included clothes, their favorite snacks, a paint and art set with canvases, a beaded cap representing their favorite sports team, and gift cards.

What made this project especially powerful was the intent behind it. Our youth recognized the importance of giving back—not just as a kind gesture, but as a way to uplift and connect with another young person who may be in need. This act of service not only brought joy to the recipient but also served as a reminder of the strength and compassion that lives within our youth.

This initiative speaks to the importance of Spiritual Wellness—caring for others, showing gratitude, and finding fulfillment in giving. The MNYC is proud to support efforts that strengthen our community through empathy and connection.

From youth to youth, we rise together.
Together, we give. Together, we grow.
