Jamie Crowe, 19
Tribe: Pueblo of Tesuque
Youth Council: Tesuque Pueblo Youth Coalition
Jamie Crowe, a proud member of the Pueblo of Tesuque, is a 22-year-old student at the University of New Mexico where she studies Population Health and minors in Maternal and Child Health. With aspirations to pursue a master’s degree in Public Health or become a cardiac ultrasound technician, Jamie is committed to advancing Native health and wellness through education and service.
Jamie’s dedication to community is deeply rooted. Since the age of 16, she has been an active member of the Pueblo of Tesuque Youth Coalition, contributing to a range of community projects and initiatives. Her involvement has helped the youth council gain recognition, including the 2023 Youth Council of the Year award. Jamie remains connected to her Pueblo’s traditions and ceremonies, and one of her personal goals is to learn and preserve the Tewa language as a way to carry her culture forward.
After serving her first term as the Southwest Representative from 2024 to 2025, Jamie reflects on a transformative experience. She has gained valuable leadership skills and built lasting relationships within the Executive Committee and her region. What began as a leap of faith turned into a life-changing journey, one that has strengthened her voice and commitment to Indigenous youth leadership.
Over the past year, Jamie has served with humility and purpose, representing the diverse voices of the Southwest Region and advocating for the needs and aspirations of Native youth on a national level. Her work has been inspired by a deep belief in the power of youth-led change and shaped by the memory and guidance of her late advisor, Donna, whose encouragement continues to motivate her.
Jamie is seeking one final term as Southwest Representative to continue the work she has started. With renewed purpose and heartfelt dedication, she is ready to keep showing up for her community and creating space for Indigenous youth to lead, heal, and thrive.
