The Center for Native American Youth hosted the 2026 Champions for Change Panel on February 10, 2026, in Washington, DC, with a livestream option for virtual attendees.
The public panel featured six emerging Indigenous leaders from across the country, representing communities from Alaska to Hawai’i, Oregon to North Carolina. The discussion focused on important issues impacting Native youth, including rural education, economic development, mental health, sovereignty, and the future of U.S. and Tribal leadership.
The panel was moderated by Dawson Her Many Horses, a 2023 Aspen Institute Finance Leaders Fellowship alum and Managing Director at Wells Fargo. Introductory remarks were provided by Daniel R. Porterfield, President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, and Tracy L. Canard Goodluck, Executive Director of CNAY.
The 2026 Champions for Change speakers included Sebastian April, McKaylin Peters, Zianne Richardson, Kaylah Toves, Summer Wildbill, and Moses Wiseman.
The Champions for Change program is a Native youth leadership initiative that has supported nearly 60 active alumni over the past decade. This year’s cohort continues that legacy by uplifting Native youth voices, leadership, and community-based solutions.
